Race Village Life

Trans Britain Race Village is a mobile community, which will be taken down and reassembled daily at various stages along the route, as the event crosses continues. Once competitors have completed the daily stage, they must retire to the Race Village and not leave again until the start of the next day's stage. Nor must they allow entry to anyone who is not a registered competitor of the event.

Sleeping Arrangements

The competitor enclosure comprises pre-installed accommodation tents 1 per person.

Toilet Facilities

Mobile toilets will be available in our villages; however along the route competitors are expected to use their initiative. Remember that urinating in town areas or so as to cause offence is prohibited, and penalties will be imposed. Defecating on the course is not allowed, all stools must be done off course and buried or taken away.

Medical Facilities

A team of doctors, medical specialists will be on course every day and available at the Medical Facility in the Race Village. The surgery is open every morning of the event from 7:00am onwards on a first come first served basis. The medical team will be available throughout the race to attend to minor injuries, blisters, etc, which may occur as a result of normal wear and tear during a competition of this nature. Any major injury, as defined by the medical team, will not be treated on the course, and the competitor will be taken to a hospital or removed from the event at the discretion of the Race Director or Race Doctor.

Water

Water will be supplied at the start of each day, at the checkpoints, and at the Race Villages there will be water as well. Each competitor must manage his/her water needs according to water distribution. Never leave a checkpoint without water - in the event of getting lost, water reserves could be vital. Penalties will be given to contestants who abandon empty water containers along the course. Facilities for handing in empty containers will be available at all control points.

Food

Food is provided before and after each stage (breakfast and evening meal). During the stages competitors are required to carry enough food to sustain themselves and are required to complete the course in time to meet Race Village meal times. Should competitors wish to purchase non-alcoholic drinks, or snacks along the course, then that is permitted.
