Country to Capital 17 January 2009 Introduction
A 45 miler starting in Wendover and for the first 20 miles we are cross country using well marked footpaths and bridleways making our way to the capital via Chesham and Chorleywood. Once well inside the M25 we pick up the Grand Union canal path and eventually into Little Venice providing a great mix of light orienteering and canal paths. Go Beyond is a team providing events for those that have run all the road marathons they ever want to do and are now looking for something that offers more variation and greater challenge while still retaining the competitive element. Go Beyond provides an Ultra race series to rival their road counter parts. The team comprises of Coach and High Performance Mentor, Andy Mouncey, who ran, swum and cycled some 300 solo miles between London and Paris; Steve Adams, who has led global teams at major companies & startups and has run almost 30 marathons to raise money for charities including his own "Teach Africa"; Alan Rose of Just Racing, a company organising 5 running events and 7 triathlons every year; The experienced Marathon Des Sables finisher Mark Pinnock has over 10 ultras and 20 marathons under his belt.
